Since 1978, we have been developing solutions
Since 1978, Trüb Emulsions Chemie AG has stood for expertise, quality, and innovation in the development and production of water-based emulsions and dispersions.
Our ambition goes far beyond individual products — we provide tailor-made solutions precisely aligned with the specific requirements of our customers.
Our core competencies include the production of paraffin and wax emulsions, as well as acrylic, polyethylene, polypropylene, and block polymer dispersions.
Our portfolio is increasingly complemented by the use of renewable and bio-based raw materials, combining ecological responsibility with high technical performance.
With a steadily growing range of more than 110 products and an annual throughput of over 25,000 tons of raw materials and finished goods, we are today among the leading specialists in our industry.
To meet rising demand, we continuously expand our capacities. The new production buildings TEC 8 & 9 add an additional 14,000 tons of capacity and, thanks to state-of-the-art reactor technology and tank storage, offer maximum flexibility and supply security.
We act responsibly: avoiding mutagenic chemicals and consistently following ethically sound processes are fundamental principles of our corporate philosophy.
Our location in Ramsen, in the heart of Europe, provides strategic advantages for international exports — over 90% of our products are delivered to European and global markets.
Today, Trüb Emulsions Chemie AG is an established partner to the chemical industry — known for innovation, quality, and sustainable thinking.
1978
Foundation and Vision
With the vision of ushering in a new era in the world of dispersions, Christiane and Peter Trüb founded Trüb Emulsions Chemie AG in October 1978, based in Ramsen (CH). What was considered of little significance at the time has today evolved into a future-oriented technology — water-based emulsions and dispersions.
1986
Entry into Polymerization
“Progress is the realization of utopias.” — guided by this principle, Trüb Emulsions Chemie AG expanded its range of technologies. With the construction of a polymerization plant with an annual capacity of 2,000 tons, the production and development of acrylic dispersions began.
1992
Expansion of Production Capacity
The increasing demand for polyethylene dispersions and wet lamination adhesives led to further investments. A new facility was built featuring an 8-ton autoclave (up to 145 °C / 6 bar pressure) and an 11-ton mixing vessel.
1996
Extension of the Paraffin Emulsion Plant
To further increase flexibility and efficiency, the paraffin emulsion plant was expanded. The new technology enables a production output of 14 tons per hour — allowing a single operator to produce up to 30,000 tons of emulsions per year.
2000
Expansion and In-House Development
With the acquisition of an additional warehouse, 1,000 tons of extra storage capacity were created and the workshop area was expanded. This enabled the company to maintain its equipment independently and install new production units internally.
2003
New Polymerization Plant
The installation of an automated process system for the polymerization of acrylic dispersions introduced an entirely new level of flexibility. With batch sizes of up to 30 tons, the plant can produce 6,000 tons of acrylic dispersions annually. An additional 15-ton autoclave increased capacity by a further 3,000 tons.
2004
Expansion and Anniversary
To supply the new production units, the storage capacity for solid raw materials was increased by 1,000 tons. In the same year, Trüb Emulsions Chemie AG celebrated its 25th company anniversary.
2008
Planning of New Laboratories
Even in times of increasing regulatory requirements (REACH), the company remained true to its philosophy of innovation. In 2008, planning began for the expansion of the laboratory facilities to provide customers with even faster and more precise solutions.
2014
Commissioning of “TECtwo”
With the construction of the new laboratory and administration building “TECtwo,” Trüb Emulsions Chemie AG set a clear signal for continuous innovation. Investment volume: CHF 3.5 million, new space: 600 m², doubling of laboratory capacity, and workplaces for up to six additional employees.
2017 - 2019
New Production Building, Solid Material Storage & Underground Hazardous Goods Warehouse
With an investment volume of CHF 11 million, new production and storage facilities were built, featuring four reactors and 24 storage tanks. The capacity expansion includes 12,000 t/year of acrylic dispersions, 7,000 t/year of secondary dispersions, 700 t of solid materials, 750 t of acrylic monomers, 120 t of paraffin, and 500 t of finished products.
A 2,500 m² biodiversity area was created as an ecological compensation measure. The underground hazardous goods warehouse protects the environment and groundwater, while a comprehensive Business Continuity Management Plan ensures full redundancy. A new climate-controlled quality laboratory (120 m²) complements the facility.
